ABOUT US

We are a small kennel located just south of Calgary, Alberta. We are a mother and daughter team and each have dogs living in our homes. Before we had show dogs, we had pet Cairns for years and that is how we fell in love with the breed. They are wonderful companions and great family dogs.

Kaitlin & dogs First and foremost, our dogs are loved members of the family. Sara, and husband Keith, have two small children and live in a suburban house in Okotoks, about 15 minutes drive south of Calgary, Alberta. The whole family is very active in caring for the dogs. The dogs live in the house, go for routine walks, rides in the car, and are exposed to all the noises and activities in a typical home environment.
Pam and her husband, Denis, live on a farm with horses and cows just out of the city where the dogs have a total of approximately an acre of fenced yard to run and play. It is true country living with a great view of the Rocky Mountains and rolling fields surrounding the house. Pam property

Pups playing When we have puppies, our worlds are turned upside down. It is a huge responsibility. We spend countless hours caring for the new Mom and pups. Our puppies are snuggled and handled right from the start. They run around the kitchen when they get old enough and have lots of toys to play with. We make sure they are exposed to a variety of noises and people. We don’t place our pups in their new homes until they are at least 10 weeks old.
We have been very fortunate to have started off our kennel with some great dogs from a couple of the most notable breeders on two continents (Canada and Great Britain). We got our first show dogs in 1999 from Glenn Sergius and Frank Mesich, of McCairn Kennels in Burnaby, B.C. Glenn was the person who taught Sara how to show and groom. They continue to be great mentors and friends. In 2002, we met Carole Templeton and her husband Andrew of Larchlea Kennels in Scotland. Within the next year, we had imported a bitch and a dog from Carole. Although across the ocean, we continue to maintain contact and consider her a great friend and mentor as well. Pile of pups

Our main priorities have been to have dogs with great breed type without compromising health and temperament. Because our dogs live in the house, they are family pets first, show and breeding dogs second. We don’t have many litters, usually about one every year. However, we are always happy to provide breed information and referrals. If you have any questions or are interested in a puppy, retired dog, or rescue dog, please feel free to contact us.

Thanks for your interest in us and our dogs,

Pam Fieldwalker and Sara Lumby
